Released
The clear bright twinkle of her
eyes
Stabs through the gloom enveloping
my heart
And I am left speechless,
Unable to wallow in the darkness
That surrounds me.
Her hands caress my stern and
serious face,
Calming the lines that grow there
Until I am finally at peace.
Her smile shines through to touch
each
Shadowy corner of my being,
Making me smile in spite of
myself.
And then I am home, back in the
Comfort of her embrace;
Able to let go of the harsh
realities
Of Life and drown in the tranquility
That is her.

Wild Things
and she danced for me like
pagans cavorting under the full
moon,
bodies painted in rust coloured
hues;
undulating forms writhing to a
hidden
beat as old as nature herself,
garnished with little more
than a smile and a promise
of wild nights of tempestuous
abandon,
at one with mother earth;
worshipping at the gates of
carnal knowledge.

Love's Redemption
The aged warrior stands proud,
Her eyes flash over the
battlefield;
Scarred hands gripping the stone
abutments
As she observes the carnage below.
The years passing filled with
honour and duty
But for the images of butchery and
devastation
That still haunt her slumber;
Life as a destroyer staining her
soul.
Watching as the battle runs its
course,
The outcome a foregone conclusion,
She closes her weary eyes
And breathes redemption as she
Feels the warmth of green and gold
as
They wash death's toil away.
